Love the idea. However the reason I won’t use this is the same reason I don’t use Friendica: no one I know gives half a shit about using FOSS because it’s better for society.

“Buyer beware”
I’m not here to provide Valve with free advertising, but what do you want buyers to be wary of?
I’m 40% lead and other metals! *klongk klongk*
It supports up to 4. Full disclosure I haven’t tried split screen on the Deck, but I fully believe it’s worth a shot
I can’t help but laugh at the idea of a couple of 8 year-olds playing through Baldur’s Gate 3 lol.
Strong, STRONG recommendation for checking out Hypercharge: Unboxed.
It’s an amazing mix of aesthetic from Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes on the N64 and the Toy Story 2 Action Game with the PvP gameplay of the former and PvE gameplay of any famous shooter from the past 20 years.
To top it off, the level of detail put into every damn corner of the game is to die for. Customizable action figure player characters, all the NPC enemies are recognizable toys that react exactly as you expect (i.e. Beyblades that spin out into pieces when destroyed, and plastic soldiers that melt when shot with a flamethrower), and the environments are all lovingly designed and decorated. It’s the perfect modern couch-co-op game.
Screen Cheat is so damn underrated. Love that game
You see Ukranians have a preset kill limit. Knowing their weakness, I sent wave after wave of my own men at them until they reached their limit, and shut down.
I definitely sometimes have the audio issue and it’s annoying as hell. I don’t have a solution though I’m sorry
I was really disappointed while playing this on my Deck that after a few seconds of playing with headphones the audio just dies and I can’t hear anything. Not sure why that could possibly be specific to GoW:R but it is
It’s not on Steam, but my favorite casual couch co-ompetitive game is SUPER SPACE _______ made by some students at DigiPen. It’s free and absolutely amazingly frustrating but in such a fun way. All players control the same ship using only their cannons for propulsion while competing to shoot the most asteroids and together trying to steer the ship to stay alive
SPIDER-MAN 2 IS COMING TO PC TOMORROW??!?!?!
holy FUCK this is HUGE NEWS
I literally staved off the urge to buy a PS5 for like a continuous 6 months because I knew this was coming some day and now some day is TOMORROW?!?!??!?
Burnout Paradise runs flawlessly and has yet to be bested in the arcade racing genre (except maybe by Full Auto but that’s not available on PC)
I think I played the original Dark Souls more than anything else on my Deck (still can’t beat Ornstein and Smough dammit), but I was most surprised by how great Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands plays on it. The game runs buttery smooth, the HDR is gorgeous, and the controls feel magnificent in spite of using thumbsticks for an FPS
we will be shipping a beta of SteamOS which should improve the experience on other handhelds, and users can download and test this themselves
So how does SteamOS distinguish between a “handheld” and a desktop, and what’s the Nvidia support like?
Asking for a friend who has an Nvidia-powered desktop that’s been infected with the Windows virus for over a decade now
My 11 year old brother was told he can’t beat DOOM Eternal on Ultra Nightmare (1 life mode) given only 100 hours of playtime. I told him there’s absolutely no chance he can do that if he’s on Xbox or PS, and to prove it to him I’ve been letting him try on my Steam Deck which is essentially a console controller++
Credit where it’s due, he’s great with the thumbsticks but he’s changed difficulty from Nightmare to Ultra Violence a few too many times to instill any confidence that he could do this lol
On a plane I’ll use my Airpods Pro 2. They have worked shockingly well for the Deck being a non-Apple product.
I will say though for seemingly no reason they don’t work with God of War Ragnarok. They work fine at first but after roughly a minute, everytime I launch the game, the audio starts to get glitchy and eventually just disappears entirely until I disconnect and reconnect, when it starts that cycle over. I can’t tell in any way why it happens but it happens everytime.
didn’t the last one end like 2 days ago?
It seems to me like the thumbsticks are in the same ergonomic location as on a Playstation controller, and the trackpads are just in the empty space that would otherwise be there. I’m fully into it even if this is what it looks like when complete
Very. It’s extremely similar to the first in many ways but has loads of improvements that refine what was already there. It’s like Borderlands 3 compared to Borderlands 2, or Arkham Knight compared to Arkham Asylum.
Additionally, the story is great, if a little bit rushed. Having not read the comics I greatly enjoyed the development of the black suit and the symbiote storyline as something relatively fresh compared to the 90’s cartoon and the Toby Maguire movies
