I always forget about this perk of my Amazon subscription so thanks for posting this. I jumped over and claimed all the GOG codes. I’ve never tried the Lego games using Proton so I hope they work.
The object of a system of authority is order, not justice. Justice matters only after injustice sufficiently compromises order.

1965 was good but why not the Blackout of 2003?
They can and have been recreated. They just suck due to having very low light output.

This looks like something that was said between the head of the SVR and the leader of Belarus during a talk in Minsk. If true then it’s meant for domestic audiences in Russia and Belarus.
Everyone in the West knows that Russia would get removed slapped out of Ukraine if even a few of the NATO members, never mind the whole organization, decided to get directly involved.
It was impressive but it happened in 1999. The Dutch Captain said that he doubted he could do it again and indeed a different Dutch Submarine failed at it the next year.
Carriers are considerable faster (30 Knots) than Diesel Subs (20 Knots) too, something the Dutch Captain touches on in that article.
Millennium Challenge 2002. That was a boondoggle. Yes the opposing force won and they had to reset the game but the OPFOR was up to some ridiculous shenanigans. For instance instead of using radios, which could be intercepted and tracked, they used motorcycles to convey messages…motorcycles that could travel at the speed of light.
Another piece of silliness is that there were commercial vessels (non-combatants) on the virtual water but OPFOR sometimes used them in ways that were impossible. As an example radar would return a 12 foot fishing boat and then that boat would launch four 20 foot long anti-ship missiles.
Then there’s whole idea of a CBG just hanging around shore for days on end staying inside a pre-determined box so that OPFOR always knew their location, something that almost certainly not happen in an IRL conflict.
The Commander of the Opposing Force was extremely clever but they needed a long list of nearly impossible to achieve advantages to make it work.
I hard doubt the US doesn’t have classified hypersonic missile tech…
The HACM (Hypersonic Attack Cruise Missile) is already out there.
I wonder if it’s dawning on any Trumpers here in America that they’ve made a profoundly bad call.
Well…Rand Paul led the Senate in voting to stop the Tariffs on Canada and Mexico. Dunno if the House will follow or not but some of them are starting to clue in.
Smells like Smoot-Hawley up in this removed.
Meh, the politicians can say whatever they want. The Market talks a lot louder.
Coal production in the United States is down 60% from it’s peak in 2008 (1172 vs 526). In that same time frame Wind Power is up from 55 Tw/h to 425Tw/h and Solar Power is up from 864Gw/h to 164,502Gw/h.
We still have a long ways to go but there’s been massive changes in the last 15 years.

Well No Shit. Why would anyone want to buy into the hot mess we’ve got going right now?
Does Linux have a good alternative to ActiveDirectory?
Centralized IAM, managed updates, and all of the other “stuff” that AD does is available for at least some Linux distributions but it’s not free to use, at least not commercially. You’re going to be paying Red Hat, SUSE, etc for these kinds of features.
is far to powerful to throw completely away.
They could do the same with DoE and it isn’t saving that agency. There’s no particular reason the FDA would fare any better. They’ll strip it to the bone and some states will cheerfully make it completely legal for their citizens.
No FDA means no one to stop it! 😂
How their conduct has gone unchecked for so long is baffling.
Is it really baffling? The film industry protects them. It’s a simple as that. You don’t have to look any farther than the 2003 Academy Awards where Roman Polanski (who fled the US in the 1978 o avoid being prosecuted for sexually assaulting a minor) was wildly applauded for his return.
Where was Roman Polanski working between 1979 and 2004? Anywhere that didn’t have an extradition treaty with the United States, including France.
HP can make some neat stuff but I wouldn’t hold my breath on this one.
In your example MS makes 65 Billion so if a few business units lost 13 Billion it’s NBD, the overall company is still profitable. In this case though Gazprom lost 13 Billion across all units. What’s worse is that there’s no way for them to get more. They can’t sell stock and as a Government Russia is basically broke.
Trump isn’t aware of anything more than 1 foot from his nose. Frankly he doesn’t need to be aware of this, the US Is already selling a crazy amount of LNG on the Global Market. Here’s the graph of exports.
Oil is a different matter. The US can produce plenty of crude but is seriously constrained by refinery capacity. No new refineries of significance have been built since 1976 and all of the existing refineries are already working flat out. It’s why the US was importing so much refined petroleum product (Gasoline, Diesel, etc) from Russia prior to the Ukraine war.
