Mine is doing the same thing. I had huge improvement taking off the back shell and board shield, then using mini qtips to brush alcohol between the button and the board vigorously.

It looks pretty sweet. I have the killswitch case and use my deck similarly but with a $5 Walmart pillow and the kickstand.

Mine does this after closing a game until I open the steam menu, then the buttons work again??? So weird.
