It is but losing the traitor in the assembly is not a bad thing. Now if Europe could jailbreak all that American tech they have in their military gear too, that would be nice.

I read Musk fired the Tesla manager for Europe and North America over the low sales, as if those weren’t a direct result of Musk’s own actions. Like there is only one person responsible for pushing the stupid cybertruck and for associating the brand with fascism.
My Guy, you really don’t have any idea.
I think you vastly overestimate the imporance of the US. And yes recently, with Trump the US is turning in on itself to become more like Russia. It breaks with allies, alienates trading partners and isolates and inpoverishes its own population. Its position as a hegemon is crumbling to dust rapidly.
Yeah yeah, US exceptionalism much? You would be surprised how little Europe depends on the US, but as you imply, it’s become an abusive relationship that Europe needs to get out. Russia is no alternative for the US. The reason Europe needs to sever ties with the US is that it has become too much like Russia. China? Yes Europe does a lot of business with China already, that is not about to change.
Certainly, it would be more limited in capability on paper, but now they have a big member who likes bossing the others around and is also a huge liability. Losing that would be a serious win.
NATO could very well exist without the US in it. It’s not like the other members can trust the US to help at this point.
Well Rutte’s job is basically to keep NATO together, can’t blame him for trying. Personally I would not be sad if NATO chucked the US and told them to pack their bases all around Europe and go home. But I understand Rutte’s position.
No the guns weren’t as fetishized. On the other hand in the first half of the 20th century large bits of Europe had been occupied by the Germans twice. The idea that you wanted to be armed in case of a foreign invasion happening was a lot stronger, and more well founded, than the wettest dream of a 2nd amendement lover. Lots of people had been in the armed resistance and a lot of those who had not wished they had had the opportunity.
It can be done. Europe as a whole was on its way to become as car centric as the US back in the 1960’s. People seriously revolted against that, most strongly in the Netherlands which is why it has such nice bike infrastructure.
We got gun laws because after WW2 Europe was full of guns, they were everywhere and it was untenable. So we got our shit together and did something about it.
Cars are much safer than they used to be, so why get trucks and SUV instead as these are exempt from a number of car safety requirements (like crumple zones) in the US. They have a likelihood of causing fatal unjuries when they collide with other cars and pedestrians that is 8 times higher than the average sedan, according to a UK study. Due to their size, weight and bad visibility for obstacles close by, they are also much more likely to crash into stuff.
And get safer cars. The US has some kind of car arms race going on where you need a super large heavy car to be safe because the roads are full of big heavy cars… Resulting in much more deadly crashes for everyone. Besides most states driving test is a joke.
Ah yes, Afearican’s never worry, famously.
I live in a country with rather restrictive gun laws. That stuff works great! I never have to worry about getting shot.
Yeah, American thoughts and prayers system works better, not.
Indeed, while Israel is indeed a Jewish country, it does not represent all Jews, nor do all Jews agree with the way the Israeli behave. Condemning Israel is justified, hating all Jews because of Israel is not.
Absolutely, valid protest is valid. But it’s not the act of protesting that makes someone right. I understand the farmers in that they get a tool taken from them that saved them a lot of time, and they probably have long term contracts with the companies selling that stuff. However they are objectively wrong to push for a product that is this harmful.
No a lot of the old resistance weren’t tools, but they (Israël) have learned from that. So they have cultivated resistance that is shaped to look like the kind of thing the West fears (wether you call it Islamophobia or not, it works) . Secular, leftist groups easily got sympaty abroad while religiously inspired fanatics get easily classified with groups like ISIS or Boko Haram. And I’m not saying they are like thise groups just that they have properties that allow people to classify them in the same range, and that is by Israeli design.
If you want help in your war, get an enemy that other people don’t like as well. Make them strong enough that they can really hurt, but not strong enough that they have a chance of winning and let them attack civilians and minor military targets but never the real policy makers. That is absolutely what Israel has done.
That last sentence describes you perfectly. Damn it’s sad.
Russia’s most densely populated, and politically most relevant are is on the European continent. Get that into your fucking head.
