  • Most of Europes pharmaceutical drugs are sourced from India these days. India is crucial for Russia to launder its oil to circumvent EU sanctions. India is a huge producer of a lot of other things. An all out war would likely also involve a lot of cyber warfare which would affects the large IT outsourced to India and will likely hit a lot of “bystanders”. China might use the weakness of India to move up in its border conflict with them…

India and Pakistan represent about 15-20% of the global population. This absolutely has the potential to draw other powers in.

  • The French and British cracked down with brutal colonial oppression on the colonial liberation movements that demand liberty and justice for them too. Already during World War II British colonialism was extremely murderous, killing about 1.5-3 Million people in Burma by starvation.

During Algerias struggle for independence until 1962 France killed about a million Algerians. The French colonialization of Algeria is also special in that it was settler colonialism with the goal to establish a French-European population and ethnically cleanse the native Algerians, which goes beyond only stealing resources and enslaving the natives.

Both France and the UK used WW II and the memory of it to whitewash themselves as morally superior liberators and the working through and acknowledging of their colonial regimes including the various genocides they committed remains lackluster.

  • They have strong domestic support because they have been poisoning the public debate with always jumping on migration and inventing stories as well as blowing things out of proportion and the media and other parties playing along. The more politics shifted to the right because of the AfD, the stronger the AfD became.

Their ideas and the way they conduct themselves was normalized, so people approve of it, because they think it is normal and legitimate. If you make it clear that it is neither, it will defuse the far right. Also by banning them, their organizations are dismantled, their politicians thrown out of power and their assets seized.

If you want to stop a fire you need to stop fueling it with self-igniting fuel. Only then can you extinguish the fire.

  • You misunderstand these values. The say “if everyone would pollute, like the top …” But when you have 10 people emitting 1% of all emissions and 1000 people emitting 10% of all emissions, you wont get the emissions down to a sustainable level, unless you also address the emissions of the 1000 people.

It doesn’t matter for the climate change, who or how many people emit, just how much it is in total. I agree that those who emit disproportionately also need to pay more to fix it.

  • China with all its problems and human rights violations is not threatening to invade and annex territory associated with an EU member state.

People unfortunately care very little about the shit countries do to other people and only get interested when them themselves are at threat. Another commentator pointed out how in Denmark his local Burger King was practically empty. I still see people go to Burger King quite a lot where i live. Meanwhile Tesla is getting quite some attention here in Germany because Musk openly embraced the fascist AfD, while in Norway Tesla sales are affected much less.

Unfortunately we are not yet united on boycotting the US, so we have to work more on it.
