If I don’t have it docked I use the right one for anything first-person. I hate aiming with a thumbstick, so it gets used as a mouse. The left one usually gets used as a hotbar.
Yeah, how is it that none of these so-called “rivals” have even a single touchpad? I personally wouldn’t even consider a device that forces me to use a thumbstick as a mouse.
Needs to not have a big learning curve and be something we can just play for an hour or two when we have time.

You can buy them used if you can find them. I bought 2 directly from Valve before they were discontinued then a 3rd on Ebay.
I read Tim Sweeney’s name for the first time in this thread and don’t care enough to look him up, so I can’t comment on him. I don’t play a lot of multiplayer either, so Proton has been pretty great for me.
Pretty much the only remaining hurdle to Linux gaming is kernel-level anti-cheat which may be going away in the near future.
A dock and kb+m when I know I’ll have space, a DeckMate used to attach a battery pack when I don’t
