  • Israel has a very successful gamble in showing they are the white man’s key to the Middle East. For as long as no one wills to find another ally in the region, Israel oversells itself as a one. And as any other bad example of putting all eggs in one basket, Israel felt the dependency other states have in it, and now tests it, tests it, tests it with no negative response.

Palestine and Gaza are just them dipping their toes to know, if they can get scots-free from shooting weak HAMAS and civs and get into a real war Netanyahu’s cabinet already planning. It’s 2025 and in the coming years we’d see even more violence from that beloved partner if no one pulls the stop lever.

  • I think what another important thing he did is he spoiled the place for the democrat-leaning public that started to see less and less content\traction\support there than they did before, but saw swarms of bots, elonposting, weakening factcheck and moderation instead. Twitter launched a lot of #movements, even those localized in the internet, due to it’s turbulent nature. But on X many felt disengaged, lonely and not pumped up enough to do anything, even vote.

  • It is probable, but something tells me it’s consumer-grade too, without any special tinkering. On Chinese side, this issue is probably tightly controlled to keep profits flowing without getting into trouble. The only horse in this race for them is China itself and they keep the ideal distance to sit on both chairs: profits\influence and no sanctions.

As I’ve read in russian own telegram channels, a lot of drone stuff that is prefered by the troops (and not MoD) is purchased by either troops themselves or by crowdfunding volounteers, so there’s a decentralized source of demand with too little influence to impact chinese producers. I’m pretty sure it’s just offbrand game consoles with preinstalled emulators and an SD card full of old games, there are lots of them under $100. Probably, they have a custom bare ROM with just what they need, as I did heard they have a custom firmware for Mavics.

And when we come to MoD, I don’t think they’d make these figures visible. If anything, it’s more likely that the product is sold as ‘computer parts’ e.g. a working console without one screw that is screwed in locally. So they’d not show up on these charts even if it’s true. At least, that’s how ‘local production’ worked before with some GROUNDBREAKING INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS MoD showcased in autonomous vehicles and robotics department IIRC. Отвёрточное производство or ‘The screwdriver production’ is a name dedicated to just that, known well before even Crimea.
