I play on diff 7 mostly, I use the deck presets with the regular eye candy things turned off (motion blur, bloom, others) and average around 40 frames. It’s a worse experience than desktop (my gaming PC is pretty beefy and plays it at 4k/60fps native) but totally playable. Even at diff 10 it’s not that bad but with many things on screen and explosions and stuff I’ll drop down to about 30. I grew up on PlayStation 1 and N64 so I’m used to trash frame rates, if you have lower tolerance for that it might be frustrating but personally I don’t care.

Minecraft when I want to chill, Helldivers 2 when I don’t

My gaming PC is basically a console, I don’t use it for literally anything other than gaming. It’s plugged in to a TV, and I play it with a controller (yes I’m hyped about steam controller 2). If I used it for anything other than steam I wouldn’t put it on there, but it’s actually exactly what I’m looking for. I’ve been waiting for this.

Right now I run Arch and it opens Big Picture mode on boot, but it doesn’t always work and Arch is of course Arch, which sucks when something breaks and you’re trying to fix it with a controller. I run Arch on my laptop too which I use for everything except gaming, so losing a little functionality that I already don’t use on a dedicated device is totally fine with me.

It will take 5 minutes for my gaming PC to start running this, I’m so pumped

I was playing with my shokz and I was like “ok well this is about what I expected”. But those died and I still wanted to squash bugs so I plugged in my good headphones, holy shit dude it’s night and day. I kind of feel those guys who miss the headphones jack on the phone now.
