I very never heard anyone discussing this in real life outside of maybe 6 days a year. Much less so since smartphones became people’s primary clocks since they auto adjust.
People also don’t agree on which time should be kept.

Not saying that’s not a great idea, but just think of what it would entail - for starters, who would be the commander in chief of a European army?
Not a foreign adversary, probably France
The EU needs to remove all us military from it’s territory, replicate any NATO structures as EU ones and even make sure there are no people in our armies with confused loyalties. This needed to happen before Trump even became a candidate for 2016.
I 've seen it. You want to rename the axes. The US Democrats are socially progressive right wingers, Zapatero is socially progressive left winger.
I am also not denying that there different dimensions of politics ideologies and that people can hold different combinations of them.
But neoliberalism is a position in the left-right axis. On the right. If you describe someone as a neoliberal you are describing a right winger. They might be socially progressive or they might not be. I also expect that whatever else they are they will primarily act based on their neoliberal convictions. Just like I expect the US Democrats (at least the high profile officials and politicians) to put neo liberalism before social progress.
Even in those systems the positions on capitalism are on the horizontal, left to right axis. Because when talking about politics left and right are used to describe positions on capitalism.
Neoliberalism is a pro capitalism ideology therefore it’s a right wing ideology.
That people may not hold political ideologies is irrelevant to neoliberalism being a right Wong ideology. Its also not a new phenomenon by any means.
What is there to reconcile?
They are not part of the left. They are more moderate than neoliberals since they do (in theory) believe that capitalism must be at least somewhat regulated unlike neo liberals.
Neoliberalism is a pro capitalism, free markets and deregulation ideology. That makes it inherently right wing.
Do you have to be an ancap to be considered right wing in your viewpoint?
Neoliberalism is a right wing ideology, not center-left.
Even if all the ice melts (when there are going to be real problems) Russia doesn’t have anywhere near the capacity to launch an amphibious attack against Canada.
Taking into account how their invasion of Ukraine, with massive land borders, was botched, there is no chance they ll succeed.
I find it hilarious that you bring up the metric system in regards to time and dates that actually failed to be metrified.
I don’t need to provide a better map to point out that this one is wrong.
That map is just what the Unicode consortium ( a California non-profit) decided should be used on it’s standards.
It has zero authority on what day is the fist day of the week outside that and it certainly has not done any real research on what people actually use in all these countries.
Same with ISO 8601 in regards to dates. It’s not actually used outside of naming sortable computer files (if even that) and certainly now used in common speech or official documents etc.
Simply put misrepresenting these maps and ISOs by generalizing what they apply to is wrong
Because creating a new language, “European”, is going to be perceived as an attack on their identity by a lot of people. It fundamentally changes what “European” means.
Using English or French can be tolerated as a practicality that predates the EU.
