Almost no modern device does a traditional S1-3 sleep. They all do S0 standby/modern standby in windows 8+ parlance. The system is on the entire time. So “waking up” to go to hibernate is basically the same as doing it from a normal on state.

Short term vs long term gains.
There’s a big difference between “safe” and “ideal”
All lithium ion batteries degrade quicker at 100% vs 80 or even 60%. But it’s not going to explode and kill you.
Intel is currently floundering unable to make a good (reliable) node. TSMC can make the chip, but the very important step of packaging needs to be done in Taiwan still.
Even if it does loosen under high heat it’s still going to more or less stay in place, then when it cools down the adhesive will resolidify. When you blast a battery with a heat gun to remove it you just get the glue loose enough that you can pull it away without horribly mangling the battery. It’s still pretty well held in there unless you’re being violent trying to remove it.
You mean the same guy who didn’t remove the stickers from the bottom of a mouse, then said the mouse was shit. Then when he got called out for it doubled down instead of admitting he fucked up and relooking at the mouse? Or the same guy who’s had multiple accusations of having a hostile work environment? Then releasing a south park tier I’m sorry video?
Such an Acer move to put a tiny battery in such a big (relatively) power hungry device. That’s what I hate the most about cheap PC manufacturers.
My next question is is this going to be built like an Acer as well?
The iPad probably weights less than half what this thing does, and probably takes up a lot less space.
Also it’s probably faster and almost certainly gets better battery life.
Give it one of those detachable cardboard keyboards and it it would be an overgrown Surface competitor.
Why would they when some person on the internet will do it for free?
Windows doesn’t cost $100 for OEMs, it’s basically negligible in high volumes like Lenovo.
They’re barely even emulators. The PS4 was basically just an x64 PC with an AMD 7000 series GPU
Yeah I’d expect a high end wifi 7 phone on a 6ghz connection would blow away a steam link with even a good 5ghz wifi 5 connection.
AMD is on a much better process node than Intel, but their battery life still isn’t as good as Apple’s. Particularly under low to medium loads. My M1 MBP easily gets 12 hours of battery life under a real load. My AMD powered ThinkPad is closer to 7 hours, and my Intel machines get like 4, on a good day.
I just straight up cannot do this. Either I’m spending time with family and giving them the attention they deserve. Or I’m spending time focusing on the game and the attention it needs for me to enjoy it. Multi tasking just leads to me ignoring both.
If it’s a small child and you just need to make sure they’re not killing themselves then I can do that. But besides that, to me it’s one or the other.
You still have to waste 30 minutes of your time driving over there. I’m not wasting 30 minutes of my time to save $5
I’m not a playstation fan but I’d buy a PS5 pro before I’d buy a steam deck TBHQ. I have a negative interest in portable gaming.
Plugged in 24/7? I’d set it to 60%. If I have a mix of use 80%.
