…just this guy, you know.

there is a shift happening. things are bleak af for a while then, suddently all at once, something breaks. a us senator getting off his ass and getting proof of life on his constituent gives me, and I think many others, fire to keep on. these fascist fuckers are not inevitable.
fixing this absolute clusterfuck is going to take time and warm bodies on the streets and lawyers in courts in front of judges that uphold the constitution and members of Congress that tell the truth and a million acts of defiance across the country. its been happening and its getting bigger.
lets not forget Greenland. if you ever wondered what NATO on NATO violence might look like, boy do I have a timeline for you!
just gonna point out that there is a fair amount of right wing, Hawley-esque batshit insanity in this video (my ivermectin beliefs are as good as your reviewed and reproducible research) - but on the important point (meta is globally dangerous and zuckerberg is pathologically sociopathic), I can agree.
gotta love the not so subtle use of red shipping containers in many of these thumbnails. perfect!
a problem that will go away
oh, god - I now have anticipatory… stirrings. thanks, obama.

yeah, no.

I am in awe of the shear size of the stupid. trump has redirected the “soft landing” directly into the meat grinder.
still hopeful that, if trumps idiocy does not directly blow us all to hell, an economic downturn may give us another COVID style environmental breather. silver linings and all that.
elbows up, my friend. elbows up!
old info? have things flipped?
[…]our refineries were designed to process oil coming from Mexico and Venezuela. “And a lot of that tends to be relatively heavy and relatively high in sulfur,”
based on proven reserves it looks like venezuela is gonna get canada’d harder than usual.
good observation. wonder how texas and louisiana “drill baby drillers” are doin’ right now…
cannot comment on this particular poster, but there are definitely others posting reasonably neutral articles whos posts get downvoted because of their comments and stated views; views are admittedly stupid (you know who you are, DJM), but articles that are generally ok.
I can only imagine its the collective lemmy immune system surrounding the invasive poster (some of them are prolific) considering that small changes to their posted content could subtly sway the conversation. the downvotes on reasonably neutral posts is concerning but understandable.
and, as trump shrinks us soft power, whats left? the chance of direct US military involvement against non-trivial opponents is skyrocketing. remember, trump declared himself a “wartime president” last term - he loves this shit.
ediit: missing word
Current soy volumes being shipped do not yet reflect the effects of the new trade war, the analysts said. They believe an escalation will direct more Chinese demand to Brazil over time, as was the case in 2018.
slow motion footgun is the best footgun.
oh, you’ll know. talk to friends and family who may have been through this before. make a plan (or five) for something that works. there are paths depending on your goals - individual, multi-family, communal, etc. only you (and other potential participants) know what you might want to achieve.
the most important thing its talking to people who have been through it before. start doing that so you have some inkling of what to look for and what might work if you have resources. a great deal of it is luck but some of it is forethought.
reminder: none of this is competent financial advice and you should probably ignore it.
but banks dont want houses. they want the balance of the loan. in a moderate recession realestate will get auctioned fast and low.
