Is it just me or has the number of lunatics on Lemmy really spiked in the past week? I mean, look at this guy… Or have we “finally” been discovered by the disinformation bots?

Never in my life hage I known people (in Germany, but probably everywhere) to he happy with politics. I would also argue that for the vast majority (again, here in Germany) life has improved over the past decades.

IMO the reason for right wing surges aren’t actual real-world problems or failings of ruling parties (though flawed they are), but the new forms of propaganda and outreach that right wing parties have mastered, and left wing parties have failed at.

From what you keep repeating over and over in this thread, it seeks like you think the German state should seize Tesla’s assets and sell them off.

That is an absolutely ridiculously unrealistic idea. But hey, let’s say you start campaigning for it TODAY. You start convincing all the “low average intelligence” people in order to get a sufficient portion of the population on board to sway politicians to seize Tesla.

(Note that this is not 50%; for example, legalizing abortions has had far wider support in the German population for a long time, yet it’s not happened so far.)

So let’s be really, REALLY optimistic and say, in 10 years you will be able to get a government voted in which enacts the seizure of Tesla assets, agaojat all corporate-backed influences and interests. And somehow change the Grundgesetz so Tesla can not spend years moving up the courts to prevent this.

Do you see how this does nothing TODAY? I’m all for the systemic change; go vote and campaign in that direction, but here, in this comment section you are not offering a realistic or timely solution. Should nothing he done until your “perfect” solution becomes workable?

Corporate-owned/non-FOSS software is just mindrot at this point, in the sense that the vast populous apparently cannot fathom that there’s another way than trusting big tech.

Do you then also proceed to install the client 20 times? Or do you constantly log in and out? Sounds like a hassle that federation would solve!

If you are at all familiar with / interested in NixOS, there’s Jovian-NixOS which essentially duplicates the SteamOS experience 1:1 (much more closely than, say, Bazzite imo), but allows you to easily switch to a different desktop environment like Gnome with just a single config option.

Currently, no. But I also haven’t opened a game on my PC in months, since that time sadly has to go towards my Master’s thesis. But ever since I got the deck, I have heavily used it. It’s easier to pick up and put down than the same game on PC, so I just do (did) more frequently.
