So Die Welt floated the idea to make people think there’s a reason for a national emergency.
There were shadowy conspiracists lurking in the dark alleys of Washington, and hiding from the glaring sun in the High Desert of California, but they were laughably easy prey when the Martian lizard people, the subterranean Vril-empowered mole-men, and the globalist pedophile Commies did show up.
So Die Welt floated the idea to make people think there’s a reason for a national emergency.
The BSW has very few positions that you could describe as “left” at all.
The first paragraph of Article 16a in the German constitution (Grundgesetz = GG) simply states:
“The politically persecuted enjoy the right to asylum.”
Paragraphs (2-5) were added later one by one, add a whole bunch of exceptions and restrictions, and look like this:
Paragraph 2 states that you don’t have a right to asylum if you enter from an EU member country or one that has signed comparable agreements.
That’s literally all countries bordering Germany!
So by reaching the German border, you lose your right to asylum in Germany.
It’s an academic difference. The additional defensive cover from EU ships allows US and UK to bomb more with the same amount of $$$.
So due to EU presence, more Houthis get bombed.
Slim majority of 18 votes, and a lot of people don’t like him.
Merkel actively kept him from power until she was done with politics, privately saying he’s dangerous.
He’s a ruthless, but not very good, power player with little empathy or ability to reach across the aisle.
The Social Democrats were basically forced into the coalition as the only option to get a majority without the Nazis.
The AfD doesn’t need to seem reliable, trustworthy and strong.
Like Trump, they thrive on chaos and a loss of trust in democracy itself.
In my opinion it would show the opposite.
All parties except for the AfD would think he did a secret deal with them.
Because he already did such a deal with the AfD against the last administration.
So he’d be technically chancellor, the AfD would applaud and laugh sarcastically, and he’d have lost the trust of all his allies.
On a roll downhill, maybe.
If the AfD votes for Merz in the second round, the parlament will probably dissolve into chaos very quickly.
If there is no winner in the second round, the candidate with the most votes wins.
If that is the absolute majority, all is fine.
If there is no absolute majority, the President has the option to appoint the candidate who got the most votes or dissolve the parlament and call for new elections.
The AfD could obliterate trust in him by voting for him, though.
No one would believe he didn’t make a deal with them, since he has leaned on them for a vote against the former government twice already, causing a huge scandal.
Worst possible outcome would be if in the 2nd vote he gets a majority that shows all of the far right AfD voted for him, too.
Especially since he already did a back room deal to get their support in a vote before.
No one would believe him when he says he didn’t make a deal with them.

Damn, that’s an impressive number of down-votes!
Does this extend to ads for public transport?
Reportedly, 3 years ago he changed his underwear.
Soon after WW2, they banned a party that was just the NSDAP (the original Nazi party) under a new name.
And the KPD (communist party).
Nowadays, I don’t think it’s possible anymore.
Fun fact: The last time we tried to ban a Nazi party, it failed because it had become “too irrelevant” and the ban “wasn’t necessary” anymore.
The time before that, the ban failed because too many “moles” who had infiltrated the party and were on the payroll of this same intelligence agency, were actually Nazis and had taken on an active role in the party. So it was impossible to prove whether Nazi acts were directed by “real” party members or by agents of our intelligence agency.
(There were lots of jokes back then about how the agency doesn’t need to ban the party, it would just vanish if they pulled back their agents.)
This time around, the movement to ban this Nazi party faces resistance from conservatives who say the party is already too big and popular to ban, and should be countered in debate and through good governance. While on local/regional levels and behind the scenes, those same conservatives are already actively cooperating with them. Instead of good governance, they’ve decided to go for open corruption. And by “debate” they mean copying their talking points.
tl/dr: No one knows yet.
Prolly got taken to the same dump as that one guy’s Bitcoin wallet.
In Catholic Church politics, he was the middle-of-the-road candidate.
On the one side, he protected priests who sexually abused children.
But on the other side, he was never caught diddling kids himself.
A true moderate.
