I’ve probably quadrupled my Gametime from the deck. Used to be hard around job and kids, but now I am gaming during work commutes/hotels during work trips, and little 10-15 min pauses during the day I would have wasted on the phone instead.

Jsaux mod case for travel/backpack, 25000mwh battery pack, USB hub for connecting to tv and Bluetooth dongle for Xbox controller. Considering 3d printing something for the rear buttons as I find them a little shallow/hard to press. And spring for a microSD for emulator games expansion.

It really, really doesn’t need very much in the way of accessories, if you find this and are planning to get one, I’d recommend getting it first and figure out then what you want after using it a bit.

Mate informed me a hour ago his OG LCD battery is dead and it only runs on external power now…

Good thing they are somewhat repairable!

When I can finally beat act 1 boss I’ll be there with ya… I’m usually good at deck builders… usually…

Inscyption, dredge, ufo50, hades

Been great for me but I have had to clear config a few times to get settings to stick. Been mainly playing switch/with though, haven’t tried GBA. I have done writeups years ago on manually setting up emulators/steam rom manager, so I think they’ve done a great job automating a lot of it away… But at the end of the day it’s still a fiddly proposition

I also only got my first deck last month a d went through a similar though.

I’d suggest:

• Play with it a bit stock. It’s a great experience and you really don’t NEED more.
• If you have any interest in playing older consoles, Emudeck is an amazing experience and worth it for the ‘oh wow’ factor
• Add Plex / streaming though flathub/discover and add to steam for travel streaming
• Consider decky for a few QOL menu additions
• For pick up and put down games review threads on indies for games you’ll love. Balatro, Hades, Dave the diver, dredge, undertale, into the breech, FTL, the list is quite long and there are utter gems, but it will be dictated by what you enjoy

It’s brutal isn’t it? Our markups were ‘only’ 30-50%, but I hate supporting that garbage practice. Hope you get a release or pick it up in EU travels, I did have a mate get his on a trip home to Italy.

Thrilled to hear. Have you gotten any accessories for it?

I’ve been debating grabbing a decent battery pack as I have no functional ones, and a dock so I can steam link stream from the gaming PC to my TV.

Can’t say im feeling the 3rd party cases, I think I’ll stick with the Included.
